FlashDigger Plus – SWF-oriented Application
The first thing you need to know about the Openworld Learning-developed application FlashDigger Plus is what this application can do for you. There is quite a bit you can do with this application. You can for example extract and save graphics from SWF – these graphics can be saved as JPEG, PNG and BMP. Or you can extract and save sound from SWF – sounds can be saved as WAV and MP3.
The functionality this application provides does not stop there. You can import and export graphics, shapes, buttons and scripts and place them into the same or another SWF movie. You can update or remove images, text, sounds and script used in the movie. You can update a hyperlink associated with a button object, you can assign a hyperlink to your clip.
With FlashDigger Plus you can take a SWF file and convert it to an executable file (.EXE). The great thing about this functionality is that the .EXE file can be run on any computer, even if it doesn’t have Macromedia Flash ActiveX.
FlashDigger Plus has to features some of you may find useful: ActionScript Obfuscator and ActionScript Protector. The ActionScript Obfuscator tool is meant to make a hacker’s life harder – it makes scripts difficult to read. Additionally the ActionScript Obfuscator tool lets you easily find all function and variable names, text constants and clip names, used in all scripts within your SWF movie. The ActionScript Protector tool prevents others from decompiling your scripts.
To start using FlashDigger Plus you must download and install the application. Downloading it should only take a moment since the download weighs in at some 3MB. Installing the application shouldn’t take long either – the installation process should go swiftly and smoothly. FlashDigger Plus works with all versions of the Microsoft-developed Windows operating system, including the latest iteration, Windows 7. FlashDigger Plus is free to try – in the demo version some features are disabled.
